形容词用来修饰名词，表示名词的属性，一般放在它所修饰的名词之前，在句中可做定语，表语，宾语补足语。
．形容词的语法作用。
1．修饰名词作定语如：it is an easy question.
2．在系动词后用表语如：the question is easy.
3．在宾语后作补语如：i found the question easy.
4．某些形容词通常只作表语：alone, afraid, alive, ill, free, asleep等．
注： (1)形容词修饰something,anything,everything等不定代词时，位于不定代词之后。如：
is there anything interesting in the bok?
(2)形容词短语作定语总是后置。如：h**e you got the instructions necessary for the experiment?
．形容词的等级。
大部分形容词有：原级、比较级、最高级。

（1）甲＞乙或甲＜乙：甲＋be＋ 比较级＋than＋乙。
（2）甲=乙：甲＋be＋as＋原级＋as＋乙。
（3）甲不如乙：甲＋be not＋as/so＋原级＋as＋乙。
（4）甲是乙的几倍：甲＋be＋数词＋times＋as＋原级＋as＋乙。
（5）比较级前常用a little, much, even等词修饰．
（6）形容词最高级前要加定冠词 “the”．
