famous for以…而著名。
be:1 there is +单数。
2 there are +复数。

the adj+est，如：the highest(最高的), the longest（最长的）, the largest（最大的）.
the most adj，如：the most famous（最著名的）, the most beautiful（最漂亮的）.
三、 句型（划线部分为可替换部分）
a:where is xining西宁在**。
b:it’s in the west of china它在中国的西部。
a:what’s xining famous for? 西宁以什么而著名？
b:it’s famous for temples它以寺庙而著名。
注意：城市名称不可分开写：如兰州lanzhou（√）不要写成lan zhou（×）
